The Raven Activity Archives

ECW TV: Raven/Tommy Dreamer Promos: (06.05.97) - ECW Wrestlepalooza 97 on June 6, 1997 promises the final match between Tommy Dreamer and Raven - the loser leaves ECW. Highlights of the past matches are shown - from 1995 when Beulah was with Raven and she got piledriven in the Arena ring, Then to Tampa, FL and Killian's Rock Cafe and the fight Raven and Dreamer got into it in the place, to June 17, 1995 and Raven breaking Tommy's fingers in the ring as at this point Luna Vachon was with Tommy Dreamer - then to July 15,1995 and the chairshot heard round the world as Tommy gets Raven in the cage - 9/16/95 sees Tommy in the tag title match as Dreamer pinned Raven but Alfonso says that it doesn't count- then to 10/28/95 as Raven hangs Tommy from the top of the Arena - back with Beulah being pregant and Raven finding out its Tommy's, then not because of the lesbian affair - to Tokyo in 1996 August- and the brawl there, then onto the PPV and Tommy DDT's Raven to help Terry Funk win the title at the Barely Legal PPV.

Comments from Tommy and Raven follow, first Tommy says that Raven needs to just to bring it on. If Raven is man enough to enter the ring, Tommy is man enough to end the lifelong hatred.

Raven talks about how Dreamer couldn't beat him in Philadephia, Florida, New York, Tokyo - anywhere ever in his life.

Tommy says that its just the two of them now and he's gonna run Raven's ass out of ECW. Then we have both Tommy and Raven saying NEVERMORE as we end the show.

ECW Wrestlepalooza: Loser Leaves ECW Match: Raven vs. Tommy Dreamer: (6.7.97) - Dreamer was criticised for accepting the match, because he had never actually beaten Raven. Raven and his "nest" - degenerated at this point to Lupus and Chastity - were full of confidence when they stepped into the ECW Arena at Wrestlepalooza '97 for the match. Dreamer came to the ring with Beulah and then the blood bath began. Lupus got in the ring and told his boss to leave. Raven did leave, since he had nothing to prove. Dreamer and Raven went at it, and the match could not be contained by the ring. Dreamer and Raven fought in the stands, in the back, and anywhere else they could go. They made their way back to the ring and began beating each other some more. Then, at ringside, Beulah and Chastity, Raven's new valet, got into it. Raven gave Dreamer the DDT, but did not pin him, instead going to Beulah's side and pushing off Chastity. Raven then begged for Beulah to take him back, but she would not. Dreamer was up now, and on the attack, but Louie Spicolli, a long time nemesis of Dreamer's came into the ring and interfered. Dreamer put an end to Spiccolli while Raven recovered. Before long Dreamer caught Raven in the front face lock, yelled out "EC Fucking W" and gave Raven a DDT. Dreamer made the pin, and Raven's time in ECW was over.

WINNER: Tommy Dreamer via Pinfall

WCW Monday Nitro: Raven's 1st WCW Appearance: (6.29.97) - Here's some background on the landscape of WCW as Raven makes his debut: At this point in time, the nWo (New World Order) runs rampant through the organization, supposedly trying to take it over for the WWF (since the group is mostly comprised of former WWF wrestlers). Their modus operandi is to take out the top stars of WCW. Some, like Diamond Dallas Page, gain popularity with the WCW fanbase by fighting the nWo.

On one of these occasions, Diamond Dallas Page challenges Scott Hall and "Macho Man" Randy Savage at the WCW Bash At The Beach PPV. This is personal for Page since he gained his status in WCW feuding with Savage after Savage revealed nude pictures of his wife Kimberly on PPV. However, DDP does not announce his partner and claims it will be a "mystery partner." Around the same time, Curt Hennig, the former "Mr. Perfect" from the WWF debuts in WCW. Since the two have a past in the AWA, he is the strong favorite, but nothing is announced, leading to wild speculation. Another dark horse contender shows up on this edition of Nitro.

During one of the segments on Nitro, a stretch white limousine has pulled up out back, but we aren't allowed to see who is in it. At the same time, Scott Levy (Raven) is revealed to be in the crowd at ringside as we come back. He sits in a seat at ringside wearing a ratty pair of jean shorts, a flannel t-shirt wrapped around his waist, an old leather jacket, ripped athletic tape around both his wrists, old green knee pads and a pair of Doc Martins combat boots, and an old Ministry t-shirt, looking very sullen and bored at the proceedings.

After Konnan joins the nWo in the next segment by breaking Rey Mysterio's leg, Mike Tenay, one of the WCW commentators, attempts to interview the enigmatic Raven. Raven dutifully ignores his request and when Tenay gets to close to ringside, Raven shoves him out of his way.

During the six man main event, pairing DDP with Lex Luger and the Giant (now the Big Show in the WWF) vs. The Outsiders, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall with Macho Man Savage, DDP is caught in the ring alone by the nWo and is being beat on. Savage starts dropping elbows off the top. Sting appears up in the stands then almost immediately descends from the rafters. He enters the ring as Curt Hennig (who was inside the limousine) comes striding down to the ring area. Raven then bolts the railing and stands enigmatically looking at the proceedings as Scott Hall looks increduously at him as the show fades to black with everything up in the air.
